Italian soprano. She began her studies at the Salerno Conservatory as a mezzo-soprano but later switched to soprano. A student of Raina Kabaivanska, she won several international competitions.
The singer's professional debut took place in 2007, and she gained fame for her role as Elena in Verdi's "I Vespri Siciliani" at the Teatro Regio di Torino in 2011 conducted by Gianandrea Noseda. Since then, she has regularly performed at the world's leading opera venues. Her engagements include Norma at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, in Turin, Tel Aviv, and Salerno; Mimì ("La Bohème") at the Arena di Verona, the Paris Opera, the Bavarian State Opera, in Turin, at the Teatro San Carlo (Naples), La Scala, and the Torre del Lago Festival; Leonora ("Il Trovatore"), Donna Elvira ("Don Giovanni"), Leonora ("Oberto"), and Liù ("Turandot") at La Scala; Elvira ("I Puritani") at the Paris National Opera; Violetta ("La Traviata") at the Berlin State Opera, the Bavarian State Opera, in Salerno and Cagliari; Elizabeth ("Don Carlos") at the Teatro Real in Madrid. She has also performed the roles of Amelia ("Simon Boccanegra"), Amalia ("I Masnadieri"), Gemma ("Gemma di Vergy" by Donizetti), Julia ("La Vestale" by Spontini), and Nedda ("Pagliacci").
In 2014, she made her Royal Opera House debut as Lucrezia Contarini ("I Due Foscari"). She has performed at that house as Violetta ("La Traviata"), Leonora ("Il Trovatore"), Desdemona ("Otello"), and Mimì ("La Bohème"). In 2016, she made her debuts at the Metropolitan Opera (Mimì, "La Bohème") and at the Salzburg Festival (Marguerite, "Faust"). At the Metropolitan Opera, she has also performed the roles of Micaëla ("Carmen") and Liù ("Turandot").
